Beautifully struck in .9999 fine, 24–karat gold, this gold 2016 centennial anniversary release celebrates of the 100th anniversary of Adolph A. Weinman's famous design of the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Each gold coin contains one–half troy ounce of 24–karat gold, symbolic of the coin’s denomination, and has a business strike finish. The mint only struck 70,000 of these beautiful pieces and less than 3% have achieved the perfect grade of 70 by NGC. Furthermore, this piece is hand signed by the Vice President of NGC, Miles Standish. Miles Standish is a prominent numismatist, author, coin grader and industry innovator. He was the first full time coin grader at PCGS and joined NGC as a vice president in 2015. He was honored in 2011 by US Mint Director Edmund Moy, who presented Standish with the coveted Director’s Coin for Excellence medal. This is a must own for any collector or investor.
