Why buy precious metals?

A precious metal is a rare, natural occurring metallic chemical element of high economic value. Through history, precious metals have gained popularity because of their luster, high melting point, and being far less reactive then most elements. Gold, silver, platinum, and palladium primarily make up this phenomenal market sectors which many investors believe will be on the rise in the coming years.

The main pillars of this market have been industrial, photography, and jewelry. The best-known precious metals are gold and silver. Gold is used in dentistry, medicine, jewelry, arts, medallions, coins, ingots as a store of value, scientific and electronic instruments, and as an electrolyte in the electro-plating industry.

South Africa has about half of the world’s resources. Significant quantities are also present in the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, and Russia. Although silver is relatively scarce, it is the most plentiful and least expensive of the precious metals. Precious metals are valued for their beauty and relative scarcity in the Earth’s crust, along with their superior properties. They are very malleable, highly resistant to corrosion, superior reflectors of light, and are unsurpassed as conductors of heat and electricity.

Besides signifying status and wealth, silver has been one of the most romantic and sought after of all the precious metals. From the beginning of time, people have been enthralled by its beauty and drawn to remote areas of the world in search of this white, reflective metal.

We believe that investing in precious metals is a great way to protect your assets. There is no doubt that the demand for precious metals has increased through history. As we keep using our resources, supply and demand will not cease – it will only grow. With all things considered, wouldn’t the right question be “Why not invest in precious metals?”

Should I purchase gold, silver, or platinum? How much should I invest?

You are solely responsible for determining the proper percentage of precious metals acquired in an IRA or portfolio. Endeavor recommends potential clients consult with his or her financial or tax advisor should he or she have any questions regarding the purchase or sale of precious metals and placing into their IRA account.

Endeavor representatives are not tax or financial advisors and are not authorized to provide tax or financial advice. Additionally, tax laws are complex and can change at any time, therefore any risk should be evaluated independently prior to entering into an agreement with Endeavor.
As with any investment, diversification is always important. In our opinion, a good mixture of gold, silver, and platinum in your portfolio will help reduce your risk, but everyone’s investment situation differs. Endeavor suggests potential clients do not invest more than 5%-20% of their retirement assets/portfolio in precious metals.

Some of these factors include the quality and current demand and general market sentiment. Both bullion and coins can go down as well as up in value therefore because of this investing in them may not be suitable for everyone. Since all investments, including bullion and coins, can decline in value, you should understand them well, and have adequate cash reserves and disposable income before considering a bullion or coin investment.
